| The piece was written in modale techniques, and so called modes a transpositions limitees (developed by Messiaen) were utilised. Despite a vast number of passages with wide intervals, marimba is treated not so much traditionally percussive as melodic instrument. Hidden polyphony is of great importance which leads - in frame of common textural formations - to creation of several independent melodic lines that sound simultaneously in different registers. |
